This is the 2020 BU issue with a mintage of 9,276. George III came to the throne in 1760, the first Hanoverian monarch to be born in Britain and speak English as a first language. Controversially, he is often known for the mental illness that plagued his latter years and as the king who lost the American colonies.Released as part of the 2020 annual BU and Proof sets and individually in a BU pack, the design was also struck in silver proof, silver piedfort and gold proof. The BU mintage comprised Annual Coin Set (37,117 sales), Royal Mint individual packs (6,925 sales), and in third party trade packaging (31,720 sales).
