This is the 2015 BU issue with a mintage of 9,294. The Timothy Noad reverse is a contemporary re-working of the traditional design for the Royal Arms which was last seen in its previous iteration on the £1 coins minted in base metal in 1983, 1993, 1998, 2003 & 2008 which had the reverse design by Eric Sewell. This design was also struck in silver proof, silver piedfort and gold proof. © The Royal Mint, 2015 This was the last circulating round pound coin before being replaced by the 12-sided pound coin in 2016. There were no proof quality coins issued for this type.
