2000 Canada Elizabeth II 10 Cents Proof

2000 Canada Elizabeth II 10 Cents Proof : présentation (texte en anglais)

The portrait presents a mature, dignified Queen wearing the Diamond Diadem, a distinctly Canadian interpretation of the monarch that set this series apart from the earlier effigies by Mary Gillick and Arnold Machin. Struck in pure nickel by the Royal Canadian Mint at its Winnipeg facility, the type reflects the Mint's modern, high-volume production. For collectors, it forms an essential link in any type set of Elizabeth II coinage, bridging the portrait transitions of her reign. It also invites close study of die varieties, strike quality and surface preservation, rewarding the specialist who seeks well-struck examples showing crisp detail in the Queen's diadem and the Bluenose's rigging and sails.
