1992 Canada Elizabeth II Saskatchewan 25 Cents

Sobre 1992 Canada Elizabeth II Saskatchewan 25 Cents (texto en inglés)

The Saskatchewan design, created by Brian Cobb, captures the essence of the prairie province with a towering grain elevator rising above the flat landscape, accompanied by a weathered boardwalk and fence. These motifs evoke the wheat economy and rural communities that have long defined Saskatchewan's identity and its role as one of the great breadbaskets of the world. The obverse carries the effigy of Elizabeth II by Dora de Pédery‑Hunt along with the distinctive double dating used throughout the series to link the founding of Confederation with its anniversary. Struck in nickel at the Royal Canadian Mint's Winnipeg facility, the coin reflects the growing importance of that prairie mint in national coinage, a fitting connection for a design honouring a prairie province. It is valued both as an individual tribute to the province and as part of a complete anniversary set that helped spark widespread public interest in coin collecting across the country.
