2005 Canada Elizabeth II 10 Cents

Sobre 2005 Canada Elizabeth II 10 Cents (texto en inglés)

Departing from earlier crowned and tiaraed depictions, Blunt's elegant, uncrowned likeness presents the Queen with a softer, more contemporary appearance that reflected her mature years and a modern vision of the Crown in Canada. The reverse retains Emanuel Hahn's celebrated rendering of the Bluenose, the famed Nova Scotia fishing and racing schooner that has become an enduring emblem of Canadian maritime heritage and craftsmanship. Struck by the Royal Canadian Mint at its Ottawa and Winnipeg facilities in nickel plated steel composed of 92% steel, 5.5% copper and 2.5% nickel, the type reflects the Mint's shift toward durable, economical plating technology that it developed and later exported to other nations. Together, the Blunt effigy and the iconic Bluenose make this type a meaningful component of any collection devoted to modern Canadian coinage or to the numismatic legacy of Elizabeth II.
