2000 Canada Elizabeth II 5 Cents BU

Sobre 2000 Canada Elizabeth II 5 Cents BU (texto en inglés)

It holds particular significance as the first effigy of the sovereign on Canadian coins created by an artist born in Canada, marking a meaningful step in the country's artistic and national identity on its currency. The reverse retains the beaver resting on a rock in its wilderness setting, the design by George Edward Kruger Gray that has long served as one of Canada's most recognizable national emblems. Struck in copper-nickel at the Royal Canadian Mint facilities in Ottawa and Winnipeg, the type belongs to the last stretch of this composition before Canada adopted plated steel for the denomination, which gives it added interest for collectors tracing the evolution of Canadian coinage metals.
