The obverse carries the mature crowned portrait of the late Queen by Canadian artist Susanna Blunt, accompanied by the legend ELIZABETH II D G REGINA. The reverse retains the beloved beaver perched on a rock amid a woodland lake setting, the work of G.E. Struck at the Royal Canadian Mint's Winnipeg facility in nickel plated steel, the coin reflects the Mint's modern multi ply plating technology, which offers durability and a bright finish. For collectors, the type marks the close of a remarkable chapter, as Elizabeth II appeared on Canadian coinage for her entire reign, making the final pieces bearing her likeness a meaningful bridge between two monarchs. These coins are especially sought after by those assembling complete runs of her Canadian coinage, as well as by enthusiasts who value the historical resonance of a memorial issue that honours a sovereign whose image defined Canadian money for most living Canadians.
