This is the 1924 Circulation issue with a mintage of 94,838. Farthings dated 1923 were struck in two different Bronze finishes: Hern#S1 (black) and Hern#S2 (red). The blackened finish was created in an attempt to distinguish from the current gold coins and both varieties are included in the total 1923 mintage.
