This is the 2021 BU issue with a mintage of 11,865. The design was originally used at the beginning of 2020 as part of the annual BU and Proof sets in anticipation of the games taking place in July 2020, however the Tokyo Olympics were postponed until 2021 due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. This colourised coin was issued individually in Brilliant Uncirculated in 2021 with an updated obverse date. The design was also struck in copper-nickel, colourised silver proof, colourised silver piedfort and gold proof.
