This is the 2020 BU issue with a mintage of 8,852. Released at the beginning of 2020 as part of the 2020 annual Brilliant Uncirculated (37,117 sales), third party trade packaging (27,509 sales) and a Buckingham Palace event saw 190 sales. Premium Proof (2,455 sales) and Annual Proof sets (6,397 sales) in anticipation of the games taking place in July 2020, however the Tokyo Olympics were postponed until 2021 due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. The 2020 dated coin was not available individually.© The Royal Mint, 2020 The coin was re-issued individually in 2021 with an updated obverse date. The design was also struck in colourised copper-nickel (2021), colourised silver proof (2021), colourised silver piedfort (2021) and gold proof.
